Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

There are a lot of ways to share your iPhone pictures online. A new app with a twist comes from Canadian developer Factyle. It's called Cinemagram and retails for $1.99 in the App Store.

What the app does is allows you to create an animated GIF using a video clip. Normally GIFs are created using a lot of high quality images with very limited movement.

With Cinemagram, you shoot a video, pick a couple of seconds of footage, highlight the area you want to keep animated, and then apply a colour filter. When done, you'll have a photo with some animated portions – the rest will be still.

You can then share your creation with other Cinemagram users, your Twitter followers, Facebook friends and even on Tumblr. This is of course a fairly simple explanation of this great app. Here's my video demo on how to use it.

I'm having a lot of fun using Cinemagram and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too. I'd love to see some of your photos.
