Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

Today, Apple has released a critical update for iBooks taking it to version 2.0.1 with fixes a major issue which prevented some iBooks Textbooks from opening in the application. Even though Apple has not specified the exact cause of this bug but reportedly the Textbooks launch issue faced by iBooks 2.0 users has now been fixed.

Below is the official statement from Apple:

We're aware of a small number of iBooks 2 users having issues with the playback of the introduction movies when opening iBooks textbooks. It will be fixed soon in an upcoming software update.

You can download iBooks 2.0.1 for free on your iPhone, iPod or iPad via the App Store. To read the newly launched iBooks Textbooks, you need to buy them separately (U.S. iBooks store only) which can cost up to $14.99 per book.
