Apple announces the new iPad Mar 7th 2012, 18:27 As part of their iPad event event today, Apple has announced the new iPad. That's right, no iPad 3, no iPad HD. Not yet. Just the New iPad. Features include: Retina display at 2024×1536. A5X chipset with quad-core graphics. 5 megapixel rear camera, IR filter, autofocus and white balance, face detection (essentially iPhone 4 camera with iPhone 4S software) 1080p HD video recording Dictation (not Siri, alas) LTE 4G networking 72mbps, HSPA+ up to 42mbps 9 hours battery life on 4G! - 9.4mm thin, weighing 1.4lbs. - $499 for 16GB, 32GB is $599 and 64GB for $699. - 4G iPad  wil be priced at:  $629, $729 and $829.
