Apple Black Friday begins in North America

Apple as expected has brought its Black Friday sale to the Apple Store in the US and Canada. The iPad 2 gets the most significant relative discount and drops in price between $41 to $61 US depending on the model. Some Mac models also get their traditional $101 discount, with the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac temporarily starting at $898, $1,098, and again $1,098 respectively.

iPod touch buyers see between $21 and $41 off, depending on the capacity. iPod nano players get a flat $11 discount. The Apple TV, iPhone, iPod classic, iPod shuffle, Mac mini, and Mac Pro aren't included.

Peripherals and accessories will get their own large discounts depending on the device. Bowers & Wilkins' Zeppelin Air wireless speaker gets the largest discount, falling from $600 to $498. AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and Time Capsule savings range from $11 to $51, and iPad 2 Smart Covers are $11 less expensive.

Many other products in the store, such as iOS cases, Mac cases, external hard drives, and software, are usually between $11 and $51 off. As in previous years, the sale lasts only for the one day and only applies to Apple's own online and retail stores.
