Unofficial Amazon Cloud Drive app disappears from App Store Nov 1st 2011, 14:50 Music industry blamed An unofficial app that streamed music from Amazon Cloud Drive has been removed from the App Store, says developer James Clancey of Interactive Innovative Solutions. aMusic was reportedly pulled because of legal concerns involving the music industry. Clancey claims that the removal from the App Store is temporary, but has no date for when the app will be back. The developer is still selling a similar app called gMusic, which streams music from a Google Music account. An update submitted two weeks ago, however, has been delayed. Clancey explains that he has no idea why, since Apple has previously approved updates in less than eight hours. The music industry may be objecting because it has no licensing arrangement with Amazon or Google for iOS streaming. Apple itself may even have problems with the apps, as it likely had to negotiate special rights for iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match. Even without a native app, though, it is still possible to play Amazon cloud music in iOS' Safari browser. by MacNN Staff
