iPhone 4S gets second ad in as many weeks
Apple on Sunday posted its second TV ad (below) in as many weeks for the iPhone 4S. The new spot follows the same tone as the first, where Apple shows situations where Siri's natural-language intelligence comes into play. Its centerpiece, a boy staring out the window, sees him ask "do you think it's going to snow today?" and getting the forecast he wanted.
As with the earlier ad, it also includes a clue as to how much it anticipates general questions. Asking "what's my day look like?" will let the owner know how many calendar appointments there are that day.
The second ad's appearance is relatively quick for Apple, which tends to stagger ads out on a longer schedule. A compressed schedule where its annual iPhone launch appeared less than three months before the end of the year may be a contributing factor. The ad also reflects colder weather and suggests Apple wanted a second ad that would be more appropriate for the holidays.
