When power becomes an issue with mobile devices, it's great to see companies create greener and efficient solutions for it. Eton has introduced a new solar rechargeable battery case for the iPhone. The Mobius case, specifically design for the iPhone 4, is equipped with a monocrystal solar panel (much like similar cases) that gathers the sun's energy while charging up your phone without interfering with device usability.
The case has a very slim-elegant design that clips into the iPhone much like a Mophie battery pack, and draws power from the iPhone charged battery through the 30-pin connector. The case also features a USB connection to charge the battery via the computer, and it syncs with iTunes. The Mobius case does not need to be in the connected to the iPhone battery to charged, it can also be charged separately through its own USB connector.
According to the product website, a one hour charge in the sun will add an additional 25 minutes of talk time to the phone and web browsing, or, if preferred, several hours more of music playback. According to Eton, the case includes LED lights to let users know how much energy remains, and the pack is equipped with a slide switch to stop charging and save energy. When fully charged, the 1800 mAh battery provides up to five hours of talk time via a 3G wireless network.
