Apple sends "Welcome to iCloud" e-mails ahead of schedule Sep 30th 2011, 22:15 Service still expected to launch this fall Apple has reportedly begun distributing notification e-mails related to its iCloud services, however the messages appear to have been sent by mistake. An image posted on AppleInsider shows the "Welcome to iCloud" e-mail, which includes a broken link to an instruction page that promises to help users get "up and running in no time." The message briefly reiterates iCloud's capabilities, including automatic content pushing to the company's range of devices, automatic photo uploading, and seamless transitions when working on documents from multiple devices. "There's no need to dock or sync to your computer," the e-mail reads. "With iCloud, it just works." Despite the early notifications, Apple is not expected to formally launch iCloud until iOS 5 is released alongside the next iPhones.
