GuitarJack 2 gets instrument, mic inputs

Sonoma Wire Works has just introduced the GuitarJack Model 2 audio interface that connects iPads, iPhones or iPod touch devices with microphones, musical instruments and other audio hardware. The device sports one 1/4-inch instrument and one 1/8-inch stereo mic/line input. It allows stereo recording and simultaneous voice as well as instrument recording.

It further provides 60dB of continuous level control, a configurable Pad, Lo-Z and Hi-Z modes and increased drive for headphones. The app store offers the GuitarTone app (free, App Store) that includes the GuitarJack control panel. Sonoma will also offer a TaylorEQ app.

Compatible Apple devices include the iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, and all iPod touch models except for the original.

The GuitarJack Model 2 costs $200 but is available at an introductory price of $150. Shipping begins in four to six weeks.
