Quora debuts first app for iPhone, iPod touch

Combines web services with location functions

Question-and-answer website Quora has launched its first-ever app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The title serves a similar purpose to the Quora website, letting people ask their own questions, answer others, and root through a database of existing topics. A distinguishing feature is the addition of Nearby, which places topics on a map, letting people read or respond to questions about the things around them.

The app is a free download, and requires only iOS 4 or better. Although it currently lacks a dedicated iPad interface, Quora has promised to continue "supporting and developing" the software. Currently filling in the gap is Social Questions, an unofficial client.
